Zoe holds a BSc in Environmental Biology (McGill University, Montreal) and a MSc in Entomology (McGill University – 1996). Her scientific education provides a strong foundation in animal health and environmental stewardship.
She then worked for 16 years in web and graphic design (Siemens AG) while teaching both subjects at Montreal’s John Abbott College.
After a stint as Program Director with the international non-profit Astronomers Without Borders (AWB), Zoe served as the organization’s Interim Executive Director (2020-2023).
In this role, she contributed to developing organizational strategy and led a small, multidisciplinary team spanning web development, product development, and customer and membership management. She supported an international membership and helped deliver educational resources to outlying and disadvantaged communities worldwide. She cultivated partnerships across nonprofit and corporate sectors to advance mission-driven goals and long-term sustainability. Her leadership helped create a cohesive and engaged international community while strengthening organizational systems and capacity.
Zoe is excited to join the Veterinary Compendium team and have the opportunity to contribute to Dr. Haussler’s inspiring educational project.
