In horses with axial skeleton pain and dysfunction, the focus has often been on the vertebrae themselves, as that is what one can observe on radiographs. However, maybe even more important are the soft tissues that hold and support the vertebrae from C2 to the sacrum. In this webinar, Dr. Haussler will review the anatomy and biomechanics of the intervertebral disk in horses and the related neck pain, stiffness, ataxia, and poor performance. Cervical rehabilitation approaches will be discussed with an important overview of surgical stabilization procedures as they relate to manual therapy and the conservative management of affected horses.
