Equine CranioSacral Therapy
– the Science and the Art

December 2024

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is an effective, tissue-based manual therapy that works by facilitating the body’s natural powers to heal itself.

CST addresses restrictions to physiological motion of the cranial vault, the cervical spine, the thoracolumbar spine, the sacropelvic region, the coccygeal region, and all the fascial connections, including those of the extremities. Measurable, palpable, morphological tissue changes occur with CST – any tissue, at any level, including but not limited to bone, fascia, dura, muscles, tendons, ligaments, arteries, veins, nerves, blood, lymph, and the cerebrospinal fluid.

CST rebalances the central nervous system (CNS), facilitating a return of the body to homeostasis.

Horses have a constant, acute awareness of both their internal and external environments. When we listen to the horse’s craniosacral system, we are shown their internal environment and the effect that subtle changes are having on their well-being. That is the art of CST.

Join Dr. Haussler and Dr. Sandi Howlett for a stimulating conversation about the science and the art of CST.

Community Gatherings are 1.5-hour zoom meetings with guest collaborators, including 30 minutes of audience discussion.
