Chérie is a Washington State (US) Licensed Massage Therapist since 1985, with some 40 additional certifications including extensive training in scar tissue work. She treats humans, horses, and humans and their horses. Her 39 years of human clinical experience has focussed on post-surgery issues, trauma, injury recovery, joint replacement, spinal surgery, complex or complicated non-physically located pain or sensory components such as central nerve pain and phantom limb pain. Using the ScarWork approach, she works on post-mastectomy and oncology scar tissue. She is especially drawn to working with difficult or multiple surgery/injury scar issues.
During her career, she has collaborated with human orthopedic surgeons, oncologists, physiotherapists, osteopaths, and chiropractors, as well as equine veterinarians, physiotherapists, chiropractors, and osteopaths.
Chérie’s passion for this work grew out of an inspiring personal story: When she was 12, her father’s horse flipped over backwards then rolled on him, breaking his pelvis. He was told he would never walk again. But two talented physiotherapists worked with him every day for six months. Once he was walking again, she asked the physios to show her how to help her father. The rest is history.
She lived in the UK for 33 years where she founded her business Synergy Touch. Although she has moved back to the US in 2023, she actively maintains her London practice. In the US, she runs an equine cryotherapy and PEMF business, works at a show horse barn, and attends shows and rodeos for her clients.
