Sternum and Rib Issues – Determining Clinical Relevance

The rib cage is likely one of the largest and most overlooked body regions of the horse. In this webinar, Dr. Haussler will review the anatomy and biomechanics of the rib cage and help to explain why horses actually “walk on their ribs”. The interaction of the scapulothoracic junction and the thoracic limb will be discussed as it relates to scapular asymmetries and core instability. Then co-presenter Lorre Mueller, EDO® will provide some assessment and therapy approaches, including diaphragm work, to help manage horses with pain, stiffness, and scapulothoracic instability.

Co-presenters: Kevin Haussler, DVM, DC, PhD and Lorre Mueller, EDO®
