Assessing Sacroiliac Joint Pain and Dysfunction

*Please note that the video replay will be available the day after the webinar.

Poor performance, a common clinical complaint in horses, is associated with a wide array of behavioral, cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, and neurologic disorders. Pain and dysfunction of the sacroiliac joint can be difficult to localize and is often a diagnosis of exclusion (i.e., everything else has been ruled out). In this webinar, Dr. Haussler will review the anatomy and biomechanical features of the sacroiliac joint, common clinical signs, and manual therapy techniques used to identify pain and dysfunction within the sacroiliac region. Medical management and conservative treatment approaches that include acupuncture, chiropractic, myofascial, physiotherapeutic modalities, and therapeutic exercises will be discussed.
