Veterinary Compendium’s new Cases Series got off to a strong start in February 2026 with the Amirite case – watch the replay with discussion period and read Dr. Haussler’s key takeaways in his free blog. A huge thank you to presenter Ailín Walsh and her care team for sharing this case with its rich lessons.

Case Series Learning Objectives

  • Improve our ability to recognize and interpret clinical signs and take the best decisions possible (hone our critical thinking skills)
  • Improve the way we document and share our work, including proper formulation of outcome measures
  • Improve our team collaboration and communication skills

Eligibility Criteria

  • The case must involve at least 3 members of the animal’s care team.
  • The case must be well-documented – we provide a comprehensive data collection template and assist in case analysis and presentation.
  • The case must show efforts towards effective collaboration and communication.

Ensuring a Safe Learning Space

Like all Veterinary Compendium events, we want these cases to be discussed in a space that feels safe for the presenter and any care team members who accompany the presenter. The “case owner” agrees to present the facts of the case in a transparent manner, then share their personal insights and what they learned from the case (hindsight is 20/20). During the discussion period, Dr. Haussler and attendees focus on asking questions that tease out any missing case information and on sharing their thoughtful insights. Everyone attending should leave the room inspired and with some practical takeaways.
