Becky braces herself while holding the bridal and tail of a horse during a rehab therapy session.

Becky Tenges

Becky grew up on an Arabian horse ranch, the daughter of a farrier. She earned a BSc in Agricultural Economics from the University of California – Davis. After a 20-year hiatus in investment banking, she returned to her involvement with horses, initially for the therapeutic benefit they provide to humans, and later for the therapeutic benefit that she can provide to them.

Through her performance bodywork practice, Equine Bodyworks LLC, Becky brings extensive knowledge and training, and 50 years of horse experience to horses, their owners and the members of their care teams. She is a certified Masterson Method practitioner (MMCP), Equine Rehabilitation Assistant (CERA), Tucker Biokinetic Practitioner, Licensed Graston Technique Practitioner, Equine Thermographer, SaddleFit 4 Life Equine Ergonomist, Photonic Health Red Light Practitioner, and Equine Kinesio Taping Practitioner. She has also taken advanced training in Equine CranioSacral Therapy, Equine Fascial Manipulation, Equine Myofascial Release, Basic and Advanced Biomechanics (multiple clinics), anatomy and dissections (multiple clinics), and Integrative Veterinary Approaches seminars. For 12 years, Becky directed the externship program of the Masterson Method of Integrated Equine Performance Bodywork™, and still acts as instructor, mentor and coach.

In her insatiable quest for more knowledge to bring body relief to horses and information to the people who love them, Becky has pursued personal training with and certification from the horse world’s best in each of the professional services she offers. Where body knowledge and clinical practice has not yet found its way from the human world to the equine world, she seeks training in human research and bodywork practices from the world’s best to advance her knowledge and practice with horses.

Becky has learned directly from these outstanding equine professionals: Jim Masterson, Jochen Schleese, Sharon May-Davis, Tuulia Luomala, Gillian Higgins, Sandi Howlett, Arlene White, and veterinarians Hilary Clayton, Kerry Ridgway, Ivana Ruddock, Raquel Butler, Renee Tucker, Melissa King, Anna Firshman, and Sybille Molle. From the human world of wellness and fascia, she learned from Robert Schleip, Gil Hedley, Tom Myers, and John F. Barnes. Becky has also been honored to work alongside and learn from veterinarians Robin Robinett and Martina Neidhart and equine osteopath Lorre Mueller. All of these professionals have been integral to Becky’s success and have added immeasurably to her knowledge of therapeutic wellness, biomechanics, and rehabilitation.

In order to share some of what she has learned, Becky will soon be offering CPD courses under the banner of Equine Bodyworks Knowledge Network, a branch of her bodywork practice.
